Renault leads the high end Label segment! Opts for Omet X Flex, the first such press in India

When the industry around the world was reeling under the severe impact of a global economic crisis, Angelo Bartesaghi, the founder and owner of Omet was still smiling! The success of his new launch, “ X-Flex” (narrow web label press), had made 2008 a great year for the Italian label press manufacturer Omet Srl. The new X-FLEX press, established a new benchmark for performance in the narrow web industry with its extremely low waste, very rapid changeovers, unmatched print quality and stability on a wide range of materials and exceptional operator ease of use. The X Flex had held the label printers fancy when it was showcased in Labelexpo Brussels in 2007. X-FLEX press was chosen as the leading Technical Innovation of 2008 by the Flexographic Technical Association at the FTA Info flex Forum.

Mahendra Shah Director of Renault paper Products, a Manohar Packaging Group Company founded by the enterprising Nishikant Shirodkar, became the proud owners of the first X Flex to have been installed in India. The installation was made at the company’s 23000 square feet Palghar factory. Mahendra says “The X-Flex is a uniquely engineered machine which minimizes operator intervention and is easy to operate. The print station that combines the impression cylinder and chill roll is the source of a short web path. It is one reason that the press is able to average 23 meters – and from the 24th meter onwards we achieve a saleable product.” Paolo Grasso, Export manager at Omet says, “Renault is the perfect partner for delivering this state of art label press. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Mr. Shah and his company”.
At the heart of the design of the X-Flex is an innovative 'straight-thru' web path design that provides exceptionally low waste and unmatched print stability and produces the lowest waste of any press on the market (less then 30m of waste on an eight-color X-Flex press). Additional features are Omet' proven gearless-shaftless sleeve design, an innovative new ink pan design that requires only 250ml of ink to print, quick change gearless anilox system for very rapid changeovers, Vision-1 automatic register control system which automatically adjusts both machine and lateral web directions on each print station. X-Flex can run both thin film and pressure sensitive material running up to 200m/min with very precise register stability. X-Flex is available with optional "Smart Pressure Adjustment System" that automatically sets each print sleeve repeat change in to precise impression position.
Additional X-Flex options include:
* Sliding rail system for cold/hot foil, lamination
• New Stork silkscreen cassette
• Twin-Cut tool-less die cutting or servo-driven rotary die cutting
• Turn bar
• Large diameter in feed
• In-line label creation system
The sale has been handled by Omet’s exclusive agent in India and south East Asia Weldon Celloplast Limited. Pawandeep Sahni, Director, Weldon says, “Mahendrabhai Shah’s vision and foresight is amazing. His decision to opt for X-Flex has given a boost to his indulgence in innovations in label printing and conversion”. Weldon Celloplast Limited is a Delhi NCR based manufacturer of Self adhesive Labelstocks, Tamper evident security label solutions and specialty tapes. Weldon Celloplast was setup in 1982 by the present Managing Director, Harveer Singh Sahni. The company now represents some of the leading and trusted international names in consumables, materials and equipments. The company is a virtual “One Stop Shop” for the narrow web label printers.
