Investing in fully automatic cylinder production using the K500 is fast proving a resounding success. More and more Italian gravure companies are coming round to this way of thinking. After Nuova Incis put into operation a fully automatic cylinder production line with AutoCon and the K500 G3 in 2009, Cellografica Gerosa followed suit by integrating two HelioKlischograph K500 G3 systems into its existing AutoCon line at the start of 2010. Also in 2010, Andreotti Fotoincisioni added two HelioKlischograph K500 NT systems with automation packages to a newly installed AutoCon line. ICR has ordered a complete AutoCon line for 2011 and will integrate the existing K500 G3 into this line.
AutoCon enables fully automatic continuous cylinder production and has significant advantages over manual cylinder engraving:
- High productivity with a small footprint
- Low staffing costs
- Consistently high quality
- Transparent production
The HelioKlischograph K500 is the standard output device used in fully automatic cylinder production. HELL set a milestone in the history of engraving machines when it introduced the K500 Classic in 1999. The first model was used until 2004 and then replaced by the K500 NT. The third generation of the K500 is now being built in the shape of the K500 G3. The K500 G3 has a variety of unique functions:
- Twain double-head engraving with up to 2x12=24 kHz
- High-resolution engraving with XtremeEngraving, speeds of up to 2x12=24 kHz
- CellEye cutting procedure for high-quality engraving
- Fully automatic cylinder production with AutoCon
