GIDUE launches the new MASTER 630 for “short runs” in flexible packaging

Nuova GIDUE S.r.l., a manufacturer of printing machines for the labels and packaging industry, introduces the new MASTER 630 press line, a mid-web flexographic press for the production of short runs of flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, wrap-around labels.

Federico d’Annunzio, MD , states: “Label converters on GIDUE presses since years are offering “full packaging service”, producing not only self-adhesive labels, but shrinkable sleeves, wrap-around labels, in-mold labels, aluminum blisters and other sophisticated packaging products. The MASTER 630 is the GIDUE response to the changes in the self-adhesive label industry, following the creativity of label converters in the packaging market. Also traditional gravure and CI flexo converters could take advantage of the reduced wastes and the flexibility of the MASTER 630. A wide range of accessories has been developed to produce “unique” packaging configurations. We think we have developed a good press, easy to use, and very, very innovative. “.

Due to its revolutionary patent pending Digital Flexo concept (Digital cameras and up to 9 servo motors per print unit) , the MASTER 630 performs fully automated set-up of print register, density and pressure. Wastes are extremely reduced, to less than 10 meters. Printing speeds reach over 200 meters per minute, max web width is 630 mm., GIDUE claims a wide range of printable substrates (from 8 microns to 450 gsm).

The MASTER 630 press line is available in several printing and converting configurations: UV Flexo, water-based flexo, solvent and water based gravure, multiple in-line lamination technologies, cold foil. Its structure is also “open” to completely new packaging projects.
Ing. Matteo Cardinotti, GIDUE Chief R&D, confirms: “we have addressed many typical flexible packaging issues: minimum waste during set up, consistent quality at speed changes, flexibility on several substrates, in-line lamination using different technologies. We have also found the “real” solution to use UV Flexo inks for food packaging. The MASTER 630 press is really an innovative project. We hope we can give a lot of satisfaction to our converters.”

The first Master 630 has been sold to an Italian customer closed to Lecco
