SLEEVE LABELING TECHNOLOGIES:

A new in-depth study of the dynamic sleeve labelling market has just been published by AWA Alexander Watson Associates. The research report AWA Global Sleeve Label Market Study 2018 is an update on the current status in this market, and it confirms how strongly sleeve labeling technology has established itself in a relatively short timescale.   Today claiming around 18% of the overall global label market, it is a maturing technology -- but growth is still strong, at an annual 5.5%.   As the study documents, most of the volumes are in heat shrink sleeves, representing around 88% of usage, and with the Asian region claiming the highest volumes by far.    Across all the sleeve label formats – heat shrink, stretch sleeve, ROSO™ MD sleeve, and RFS MD sleeve --  the major end-use market sector is, of course, beverages, at 66% of volumes, with food-related applications today in second place at 19%. Labelexpo Americas 2018 announces details of the Automation Arena

Labelexpo Global Series has confirmed the thirteen leading industry hardware, software and materials suppliers taking part in the ground-breaking Automation Arena at this year’s Labelexpo Americas – a brand new feature which has never been seen before at a trade show in the Americas. In addition, the automated shrink sleeve production element is a world first at a trade show.    They are: Accraply, Avery Dennison, AVT, Cerm, Esko, Grafotronic, Klockner Pentaplast, Kocher + Beck, Matho, MPS, Xeikon/Flint Group, WLE, and Zeller+Gmelin. In a unique collaboration, between them they will be digitally printing several different self-adhesive label designs and printing multiple shrink sleeve designs using flexo ‒ all on two fully automated live press lines at Labelexpo Americas 2018.
