New Professional Pharmaceutical Label Adhesives from Avery Dennison

Two new dedicated proprietary adhesives for pharmaceutical labelling have been introduced by Avery Dennison to partner its paper and film facestocks. Fasson® S2000NP and Fasson S692NP together represent a new generation of technology in the critical areas where pharmaceutical manufacturers need the reassurance of high mandrel performance, low migration, long-term adhesion, and regulatory compliance. Fasson S2000NP is particularly versatile. Its high mandrel performance makes it suitable for the tight-diameter curves of glass, PE, and PP ampoules, vials, and test tubes, and is also suitable for sterilisation by autoclaving, ETO, and gamma radiation. Fasson S2000NP partners Fasson LW supercalendered, double-machine-coated lightweight paper -- the established choice of facestock for labels where small print legibility is a prerequisite. Fix-a-Form® Multi-page labels for on-pack enhancement

For many brand owners and manufacturers, conforming to consumer and legislative demand on packaging can present a major challenge. By combining a folded leaflet and an adhesive label, Fix-a-Form provides almost unlimited space for virtually any product or pack whilst occupying the space of your standard label. Incorporating a multi-page label onto a product not only provides much needed additional space but can also help to enhance branding. This can be crucial particularly with consumer products such as beauty and cosmetics where purchasing decisions are frequently made based upon the aesthetics of the pack. Essential Nails (UK) chose Fix-a-Form for their nail care treatment range. The 12 page laminated fold-out label contains user-instruction in several languages making it a one-pack solution for distribution to a variety of markets.   Fix-a-Form International’s Managing Director Andrew Denny commented: “There is certainly a growing trend for multi-lingual information on-p

Edale report successful Cartes & IDentification show

Edale have reported a very successful 25 th Anniversary Cartes & IDentification show, held between 5-8 December at Paris Nord Villepinte. Elsie Mo - launched in a labelled bottle

Following its selection by SIBA - the organisation representing regional and micro brewers in the UK - as its champion beer for the Midlands region, Castle Rock Brewery has decided to make Elsie Mo available as a bottled beer. Olympus Labels were chosen to produce the stunning set of self-adhesive front and back labels for this award winning premium strength ABV 5.0% beer. The labels were printed on the company's new wide web UV flexo combination printing press in 6 colours with gold ink highlights, onto a white polypropylene (PP) film. Elsie Mo's name is derived from the low colour Maris Otter Malt from which she is exclusively brewed and which gives her that tantalising golden hue. Source: www.olympuslabels.co.uk

Morrison's Shampoos a Clear Winner

Printed in 5 colours on a state of the art wide web UV flexo press, the labels for Morrison's own brand shampoos are clearly outstanding. Using high opacity inks on a clear filmic facestock, the graphics achieve superb shelf standout. Experience in converting clear filmic materials is essential for achieving the increasingly popular 'no label look' and Olympus Labels are renowned specialists in this label format. Designers favour the "no label" look when they want the contents of pack to be clearly visible, however with strong product colours, the resolution of the graphics can often be compromised, particularly when using whites. A common solution to product "show through" is to use rotary screen printing, but origination costs can be costly. By using specially formulated inks and adopting multi-hits of white, high impact graphics can be successfully achieved using UV flexo and at much lower cost than screen printing.
