FLEX TOPS THE INNOVATION CHARTS FOR 2008

Omet's new label printing press, the X-Flex, has been short listed for one of the FlexoTech International Awards this year. The event has been regularly supported by Omet as part of its ongoing commitment to technological innovation The X-Flex, which was launched at Labelexpo Europe 2007, has already won leading international prizes, including the FTA Technical Innovation Award 2008 in America. Among the main innovative features of the multi-awarded X-Flex are its reduced setup time requirements and the quality of its print register throughout acceleration and deceleration, thanks to the completely automatic Vision 1 system. Add this to the minimal waste levels that result from the design of its printing unit that combines the print cylinder with the chill drum in a single roll, and it is easy to see why the X-Flex is so popular with label converters. One of the X-Flex’s key advantages is the way it can make fast format changes that reduce expensive stoppages and reduce s

Multifilm Packaging Chooses 8-color PRIMAFLEX Press to Increase Productivity and Expand in New Markets

Multifilm Packaging's intention to invest in their printing department had been in discussion for some time. They recently decided on a 52” 8-color PRIMAFLEX CM flexographic press, based on W&H's reputation as the market leader in advanced technology, reliability of the equipment and positive feedback from other W&H customers that Multifilm visited, confirming that the machine performed even better than promised. “Historically, our business has been long runs, 3 to 4 colors, and simple print designs,” says Chris Rogers, Vice President of Sales. “As we have grown into other areas, we have seen more of our business shift into shorter runs, more colors, and more complex print designs with screens and process printing. Successful Introduction of Nilpeter within the Indian Market

Nilpeter has arrived in India with a bang. The last year saw the narrow web market leader make an emphatic footprint in the Indian label and converting market. One of their flagship narrow web flexo combination models, the FB-Line series, has been welcomed by the Indian converter with as many as seven high-end presses already running in this short time span. What is even more interesting is the fact that five out of these seven presses are the servo versions, which is clearly indicative of the fact that the Indian converter, too, just like any other converter around the globe relies and trusts the Nilpeter brand equity when it comes to a choice for a high-end combination press. It all started with the sales of a combination FB-3300 S press to Ajanta Packaging at their Daman unit. Ajanta had to make a move into the full rotary flexo workflow after having achieved major success with their intermittent offset. The Nilpeter FB-3300 S was chosen after a lot of due diligence and a compreh
