Successful Introduction of Nilpeter within the Indian Market

Nilpeter has arrived in India with a bang. The last year saw the narrow web market leader make an emphatic footprint in the Indian label and converting market. One of their flagship narrow web flexo combination models, the FB-Line series, has been welcomed by the Indian converter with as many as seven high-end presses already running in this short time span.

What is even more interesting is the fact that five out of these seven presses are the servo versions, which is clearly indicative of the fact that the Indian converter, too, just like any other converter around the globe relies and trusts the Nilpeter brand equity when it comes to a choice for a high-end combination press.
It all started with the sales of a combination FB-3300 S press to Ajanta Packaging at their Daman unit. Ajanta had to make a move into the full rotary flexo workflow after having achieved major success with their intermittent offset. The Nilpeter FB-3300 S was chosen after a lot of due diligence and a comprehensive market study of many leading models available.
This was followed by installations at Procam Flexoprints, Mumbai and Pinnacle Traxim, Delhi. Again both FB-3300 S versions chosen purely owing to the feature packed and high production qualities of the machine. Both of these customers wanted to enter the Indian label market by doing something different that would make it easy for them to target the high value pharma and FMCG industry.
In the meanwhile, Printcare in Sri Lanka, a long time Nilpeter partner, went ahead and reaffirmed their faith in the FB-Line by ordering another two presses. One of these was a 16” wide press for their Colombo unit and the other a 10” wide press for their Indian operations.
The fact that Nilpeter was welcomed all around the huge country of India, was proven when Universal Print Systems Limited, a long time and a very trusted converter from Chennai in Southern India, confirmed their order for a Nilpeter FB-3300 S. UPSL has had a long experience in narrow web flexo converting and their decision to shift to Nilpeter after studying most of the available options, is a clear indication of the strengths of the machine as well as the trust in the Nilpeter brand name that the Indian converter has.
To top it up, Synergy Packaging, the flexo converting arm of Surface Graphics who are a major west India player in sheet-fed offset packaging placed their order for an FB-3300 S combination press. This press will be on show at the Nilpeter booth during India label Show 2008 and people would be able to see live the true capabilities of this machine.
On their part, Nilpeter reassured the Indian market of its commitment by announcing a Joint venture agreement with its current sales and service partners, Proteck Machinery, to manufacture the FB-Line locally in India. This was a huge commitment for both the partners as this would be the first manufacturing base for Nilpeter outside of Europe and the Americas. Proteck has a long standing name and goodwill in the Indian printing industry and is renowned for their quality of equipment manufacturing and outstanding after sales service and support.
All the above are clear signs that Nilpeter is in India to stay for a long time to come and to truly convey to the Indian industry that they are “…your printing partner”
