Husky's HyPAC injection molding machine with an in-mold labeling system runs 2.9 second cycles at K2007

Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. today announced that its HyPAC machine with an in-mold labeling (IML) system is capable of achieving 2.9 second cycle times running a 250 gram rectangular container in a 4-cavity mold. The packaging workcell will be running at the Husky booth (Hall 13, Booth A59) throughout K2007. It consists of a Husky HyPAC, a Müller mold and in-mold labeling robotics, Borealis BJ356MO 100 MFR block copolymer polypropylene and 70µ orange peel labels from Printing Company Verstraete. “The HyPAC-based IML system features 10% lower part weight and 10% faster cycle times than the current industry standard,” said Jim Overbeeke, Husky’s Business Manager, Packaging. “Superior melt stream control and complete system integration, with Polaris Control, ensures that the workcell achieves the industry’s highest levels of productivity.” The HyPAC machine, working in harmony with Müller’s IML system, features Husky’s Ultra Packaging (UP) 4-drop valve gate hot runner with UltraG

Bobst Group SA intends to acquire the Fischer & Krecke Group

Bobst Group SA, Prilly/Switzerland, and the owners of Fischer & Krecke have signed an Agreement on 20 September 2007 for Bobst Group to acquire the Fischer & Krecke Group, Bielefeld/Germany. This acquisition is subject to due diligence and merger control approval. These processes will be initiated immediately. Closing is foreseen end 2007 or early 2008. This planned acquisition is in line with the strategy of Bobst Group to expand its activities in the flexible materials industry. The main activities of the Fischer & Krecke Group are located in Germany. Net sales totaled Euro 73m in 2006. The number of employees is approximately 370. Fischer & Krecke Group offers its customers flexographic printing presses under the brand name Fischer & Krecke and rotogravure printing presses under the brand name Kochsiek. PRINTPACK INC. ACQUIRES GRUPO INDUSTRIAL PLASTICO

USA –Printpack Inc., a flexible packaging and specialty rigid container manufacturer, announced today that it has reached an agreement to purchase Grupo Industrial Plástico (GIPSA) of Guadalajara, Mexico. GIPSA is a fully integrated flexible packaging manufacturer of bags, pouches and value-added laminated structures. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Dennis M. Love, President of Printpack Inc., stated, "We believe GIPSA is an ideal fit for Printpack as we continue our efforts to expand our presence in the growing flexible packaging markets of Mexico and Latin America.
