BOPACK MAKES THE SLEEVE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL

Bopack has, for many years now, been providing total solutions to every conceivable challenge in the field of product identification. Sleeves are the latest addition to Bopack’s product offering. This type of packaging has a lot of decorative and functional advantages.

The matt or shiny surface provides a razor-sharp and true reproduction of a still image with a superior image resolution. Through the fact that the sleeve completely surrounds the product, its entire surface area can be printed with photos and/or text. The packaging is scratch-free thanks to printing the logo etc. on the inside of the sleeve. Complex shapes too can be sleeved. Besides the decorative aspect, sleeves are a functional type of packaging. Perforations – horizontal or vertical – can be applied to primary packages so as to ensure an all-round, tamper-proof seal to the product. Alternatively, a sleeve can act as a secondary type of packaging which groups together different product types, like you get in duo packs.

David De Laet, Sales Manager (Belgium) expounds on the company’s aspirations: “Bopack’s aim is to render the sleeve, as a possible solution to decoration and identification, accessible to everyone. Consequently, Bopack now possesses a unique and flexible advantage in this niche market: different versions of a single package can be supplied, in low volumes, within 2 to 3 weeks. That short time span can be guaranteed because Bopack’s battery of machines includes a 10-colour, state-of-the art flexo printer. This printer rivals heliogravure in quality. What’s more, the entry level- or cliché-costs (printing plates or blocks) in flexo technology are up to 10 times lower! Manufacturers can come to us for the actual sleeves themselves, for the machines to slid them over the product and for sleeving in subcontracting. Whatever you require, we always provide a tailor made solution.”

The possibilities to give each and every sleeve a striking look are virtually endless. Firstly, the sleeves can be printed in 10 colours. And, for the barrier system, the manufacturer can choose from horizontal or vertical perforations. The available materials for the sleeves are: PET, OPS, biodegradable PLA, or PVC. A sleeve can also be affixed to all kinds of product packaging (or product wrapping), such as metal, plastic, glass, wood and other. The thickness of the sleeve is 40 to 50 µm. Last but not least, this type of packaging is eco-friendly due to the absence of any surplus material after application.
