Labelexpo Show Preview – AB Graphic International NEW EQUIPMENT AND AUTOMATED FEATURES STREAMLINE PRODUCTION

Bridlington, UK based AB Graphic International will feature the latest developments in its Omega and Vectra range of label converting and finishing lines on stand 6F70. Products on the HP stands 9G65/9G70 will include several Digicon systems converting digitally printed webs in combination with the HPWS4500 and new WS6000 print engines.
The company will launch the new Omega VSR vertical slitter rewinder that can be supplied with servo drive option for speeds of up to 400mt/min. Capable of winding films and delicate substrates, the VSR range is available in web widths 330mm, 430mm and 530mm. A new air assisted spreader bar will be demonstrated on a VSR530 model that allows unsupported films to be rewound on a single spindle without cross over.

Also making its debut is the new Mini Digicon, a compact, entry-level machine with a specification to meet basic converting requirements for digitally printed labels including flood varnish, UV curing, semi-rotary die cutting, slitting and single spindle rewinding.

Featuring for the first time is a Digicon 2 with a new flat bed screen module for short run work and reduced tooling costs. The screen module, together with the flat bed foil and embossing units can be configured alongside semi-rotary print and die cutting for greater flexibility.

The Digicon Sabre Xtreme Laser cutter with higher production speeds and simplified operation will be exhibited with new, high performance optics and software updates. Specifically aimed at short run work, the system permits faster set up and non-stop job changeovers.

New features for the Vectra range of turret rewinders will also be demonstrated including 1000mm unwind module and ATR stand alone converting line for the production of blank, self-adhesive labels.

Completing the Omega range is the RTS offline sheeter, a new roll to sheet version that can run off or on-line and is capable of cutting to mark, to length, or to inter-label gap.

Flytec 100% label inspection systems will be demonstrated on various Omega models. New products launching include the Flytec 150 bi-directional 100% inspection rewinder for security applications. This model includes two domino, high resolution ink jet units and Fleye line scan camera system with database comparison.

The original Flytec 2000 inspection rewinder has been completely re-designed to fit in with the modular cantilevered design of the Omega and Digicon models. This high specification model for pharmaceutical and security applications is bi-directional and will be shown with ink jet numbering, accumulator and Fleye100% inspection.

Also featuring will be the Omega/Flytec Booklet Machine that combines the Flytec system with modules from the Omega converting line and offers a cost effective high specification line for the production of booklet labels.

The Digicon Series 2 models on the HP stand will be demonstrated both offline and in-line with the HP WS6000 print engine. New features for the in-line system include compact interface design, quick set razor slitting, and semi-automatic turret rewind.
