Atlantic Zeiser will be demonstrating its latest technology in inkjet drop-on-demand integration modules and end-to-end system solutions for pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic packages, products and labels and other related applications at TechnoPharm 2010, taking place from 27-29 April in Nuremburg, Germany.
At TechnoPharm 2010, Atlantic Zeiser, a leading innovator in industrial digital printing solutions and components, will be showcasing its latest integration modules for the pharma, food and cosmetics industries. These will include print engines and LED UV curing systems, as well as its end-to-end system solutions for narrow inkjet printing.
In addition, Atlantic Zeiser will introduce the world’s first integrated concept for Industrial Digital Printing 2.0 (IDP 2.0). The concept enables customers to solve today’s needs, but it is also field upgradable to meet emerging market needs in a manner that minimises implementation time and enhances productivity across a staged model. This ensures that Atlantic Zeiser systems and modules deliver maximum added value, a solid return on investment and extend the life of the production platform.
Industrial Digital Printing 2.0 encompasses transport (web/sheet/single product), and digital printing, print verifying, anti-counterfeiting, track & trace/anti-diversion, and bidirectional ERP integration within an innovative modular framework. This approach will support multiple market segments and varying customer requirements. It will deliver greater cost efficiency and constantly evolving solution intelligence that can be incorporated into extensions of existing and new print solutions.

- OMEGA 72i: complementing the inkjet printer range. The OMEGA 72i digital inkjet printers are one of the print engine integration modules in the successful OMEGA inkjet range. These lightweight, compact printers are easily integrated into most existing equipment. The printers can be installed on web, sheet-fed or single-product applications. Their 720 dpi resolution coupled with Atlantic Zeiser’s proprietary inks OMEGA printers ensures clear, crisp printing of extremely small characters and produces barcodes with excellent readability and clarity. In addition, Atlantic Zeiser's OMEGA digital inkjet range prints on a wide variety of substrates, including paper and carton, as well as specialized materials such as aluminum, polymer foils and plastics.The OMEGA printheads achieve the quality of flexographic printing with the added advantage of printing variable data. This versatile inkjet system prints variable data on all types of packaging, blister or plastic cards and can also be adapted for high quality mailings, security printing and printing labels, particularly those with special coatings.
- SMARTCURE 72i: latest developments in eco-friendly LED UV curing. With the SMARTCURE Series, Atlantic Zeiser presents its second generation of LED UV curing. This cost-saving LED UV curing solution is also eco-friendly due to its low energy consumption compared to lamp-based systems, ten times longer life-time, no ozone generation and lower cooling requirements. Its compact size allows for easy integration and it comes equipped with an instant on/off functionality that eliminates energy consumption during machine stops.
- VERICAM. Systems on display at the Atlantic Zeiser stand will also feature the Atlantic Zeiser VERICAM, a modern camera-based component used for security printing. VERICAM can be embedded in Atlantic Zeiser systems at critical points to ensure security and consistent quality. This becomes even more important for error recovery when using variable data or sequenced labelling in order to quickly and efficiently resolve any issues and to ensure that each and every piece, that is intended to be printed, actually comes off the line as expected.
- DIGILINE Single Product 500. Brand new at TechnoPharm 2010 is Atlantic Zeiser’s DIGILINE Single Product 500™, designed to simplify the process of late-stage package customization for packages with high-quality print requirements. Increased demand for late-stage package customization is driven by a number of factors. These include the need to reduce costs by operating with smaller production quantities in order to minimize storage capacities. Just-in-time supply with short reaction times is another key driver – especially with packages marked with variable data, such as barcodes and product ingredient indications in different languages. The system on display at TechnoPharm 2010 is configured with an OMEGA 72i black printer, a VERICAM high speed quality verification and control system via cameras, and the SMARTCURE LED UV curing system. DIGILINE Single Product 500™ will be shown as a complete integrated system with a special feeding device for flat packages from Kraus. The system also features a Kraus multi-functional transport base, waste gate and delivery module.
