Atlantic Zeiser to premiere DIGILINE Web end-to-end system solutions at Ipex

Atlantic Zeiser is to debut at Ipex examples of its DIGILINE integrated end-to-end solutions for high-resolution industrial digital printing of variable data and content on porous and non-porous substrates. The solutions are ideally suited for packaging, labelling, product and paper printing, and offer offset-class quality and speeds. Typical applications include late-stage customization in the current production process and just-in-time production. Ipex 2010 is being staged in Birmingham, England, and runs from May 18 – 25. Atlantic Zeiser can be found in Hall 6, Stand C557

The Atlantic Zeiser Group, a leading supplier of integration technology modules and end-to-end system solutions for industrial digital printing, will demonstrate how optimised end-to-end system solutions can be created for various sectors and applications through the integration of different modules in a one-stop shop.

At Ipex, one of the leading specialist trade fairs for printing, publishing and media, Atlantic Zeiser will present its integrated DIGILINE™ Web 280 system solutions in two versions for labels and transaction applications. The demonstration will be representative of numerous system configurations for different applications based on the off-the-shelf principle, and will underline the versatility of Atlantic Zeiser's end-to-end system solutions. Following close co-operation with leading brand owners and packaging producers, it has been possible to create flexible and scalable systems that are user oriented and increase cost-efficiency through just-in-time production.

One central requirement has been the possibility to implement late-stage applications in the printing processes of labels, packaging and products. This is based on the need to lower costs by working with smaller production quantities to minimise inventory holding, as well as just-in-time delivery with short reaction times, especially on packaging, labels and products with variable data, such as bar codes and production data in different languages.

Label customisation with DIGILINE™ Web

The DIGILINE™ Web 280 to be demonstrated at IPEX will show the application of the specifically applied label printing for demanding 3M label materials, and works with a digital DELTA 105i inkjet printer (black ink), as well as the SENSECURE UVC drying system. The web-to-web application on show features a resolution of 600 dpi at top speeds of up to 180 m/min, offering offset-class quality and speeds. Information from a font size of 2 points can be produced. The DIGILINE™ Web Series system solutions can be used for different applications, such as personalising, marking and coding labels, booklet labels and flexible packaging printing. Depending on the configuration of the integration module, it is possible to print more white with spot colours / greyscales or in four-colour printing. Moreover, the use of camera-based verification with VERICAM, as well as a PDF/VT workflow module, is possible. DIGILINE™ Web is available in print widths between 30 and 280 mm. All of the Atlantic Zeiser print engines, as well as the suitable dryer units, are available as integration modules along with OMEGA, DELTA and GAMMA. A MiniController, which controls the system solution seamlessly without a limit on the production and information flow to be included, is integrated.

Transactional printing with DIGILINE™ Web

The second DIGILINE™ Web 280 emphasises the versatility of the DIGILINE™ series. A completely different application can be realised, based on the same transport system via altered integration components. This second exhibition at IPEX demonstrates a web-to-web application for transaction print, as it is used mainly in mailshot printing. This DIGILINE™ Web works with a new DELTA 210 inkjet printer, which prints with environmentally friendly Atlantic Zeiser water-based ink and manages without a dryer unit. The solution is opening up a new market in industrial digital printing. High speeds and much flexibility when printing variable data make this system competitive.

'DIGILINE™ Web is the first Atlantic Zeiser end-to-end system solution that can be configured on such a scale for different sector requirements," says Ralf Hipp, Vice President of Digital Printing & Coding Solutions at Atlantic Zeiser. "Based on the modular concept and its flexible configurability with different feeding and transport options, labelling technologies with standard and security colours, control cameras and issue options, DIGILINE™ Web is an economical alternative to existing solutions used in the industrial digital printing of variable data."

About Atlantic Zeiser

Atlantic Zeiser helps industrial customers to increase the cost efficiency, brand value, security and quality of their products in the production and goods logistics  chain. The company guarantees this through solutions for high-quality individual coding, identification and additional printing of each individual product with frequently changing content. Atlantic Zeiser has focused on digital printing on demanding substrates which show rather low printing ink adhesion, which ensures that quality and production speed comparable with offset printing are guaranteed. In the three segments of digital print solutions for industrial applications, card systems and banknote & security print systems, Atlantic Zeiser develops, manufacturers and distributes technology components and integrated systems for commercial and state industrial clients throughout the world. Atlantic Zeiser supports its customers through its own nine sites as well as distribution and support offices in around 50 countries.
