OxoLIN the new degradable polyethylene film from LINPAC Packaging

OxoLIN has the same high quality properties as LINPAC’s existing range of stretch films, and complies with EU plastic food contact directives, as well as packaging and packaging waste directives.

The oxo-degradable film contains specially formulated natural additives which allow it to break down slowly into fragments of molecular chains that can be assimilated by micro-organisms after its useful life, following exposure to light and heat.

Available in either mother rolls or refill rolls, the film offers excellent clarity and cling, and is resistant to tearing.

The film has a shelf-life of over 12 months but will degrade after use in one to four years – addressing waste management issues.

Patrice Blayo, Product Manager for stretch films at LINPAC Packaging, said: “The food industry has been asking for a degradable film to meet environmental concerns.  We have responded by creating OxoLIN and ensuring its properties meet the high standards already set by our stretch films range. The natural additives have been carefully selected to ensure the performance of the film is not affected.”
