Helf Etiketten meets label market demands with the Xeikon 3300

Helf Etiketten GmbH, one of Austria’s largest and most well-known label printers situated in the country's largest industrial zone, has responded to the changing needs of the label printing market by installing the Xeikon 3300 digital label press. The investment allowed this prominent label printer to respond to the market's requirements for food-safe, fast-turnaround and small to medium sized print runs - which can only be achieved profitably through digital printing.

Previously, Helf Etiketten’s digital print range was limited to a liquid toner solution. But with its new Xeikon 3300, the company is widening its offering and delivering print work more efficiently, particularly on medium-sized print runs on a wide variety of types and designs. The company is also benefitting from the food-safe certified toner used in the Xeikon presses. It allows digitally printed labels for food applications to be produced within exceptionally tight deadlines. The labels can also be customized according to client’s specific requirements and for special campaigns.

“Customers are increasingly demanding sustainable and food-safe product packaging at competitive prices,” explain Managing Directors Christian Coreth and Walter Schuppler-Helf. “We opted for the Xeikon 3300 because we wanted to significantly increase productivity by improving production speed and throughput. The system also delivers superior uptime, as well as fine detailing thanks to the high print resolution.”

Best seller in label printing

The award-winning Xeikon 3300 is Xeikon’s best selling high-volume digital label press. The system is designed for use with the most common web width of 330mm, but is also capable of handling a web width as narrow as 200mm. It runs at speeds up to 19.2 m/min.

The Xeikon 3300 uses the QA-I toner, which meets all the applicable FDA guidelines for indirect food contact under room temperature and less severe conditions as well as direct food contact for dry food substances containing no surface oil or fat under the same conditions. The Xeikon 3300 was awarded the prestigious New Innovation Award at the Label Industry Global Awards during Labelexpo Americas 2008, and in 2009 became the first digital label press to receive an InterTech™ Technology Award.
