Ricoh Europe PLC will demonstrate its focus upon offering the most comprehensive production printing solutions at digi:media, in Düsseldorf (Hall 06/ Stand B50), from April 7 to 9. In addition, for the first time, visitors to the show will see the Ricoh ProTM C901 Graphic Arts Edition operating as an integral part of the live production at the Heidelberg stand.
During a joint press conference with Heidelberg, held on the eve of the digi:media exhibition, Simon Sasaki, Ricoh’s new Director and Corporate Executive Vice President, General Manager, Production Printing Business Group, said: ‘It’s a special relationship that we think will transform the market landscape – commercial printers have easier access than ever before to more fully integrated solutions. They can call upon the widest range of software and hardware options to create the optimal mix for today’s market’.
The exhibition is the first trade event since Ricoh and Heidelberg announced their global strategic partnership. The collaboration will see Heidelberg sell Ricoh’s latest colour digital press, the Ricoh Pro™ C901 Graphic Arts Edition, which delivers offset-like quality thanks to its PxP™ chemical toner and oil-less fusing technology. At 90ppm the press is the fastest in its class and comes with a comprehensive media library.
Ricoh will be presenting a range of solutions. Which include transpromo and personalised direct mail for one-to-one marketing campaigns. Visitors will also see mailroom solutions and software tools for digital input and output management. Ricoh will show the production capabilities of the Ricoh Pro™ C901 Graphic Arts Edition at digi:media through two live demonstrations. The first is driven by the Fiery E-41 print server from EFI and each day will print the Druckspiegel show booklet, while the second will highlight the benefits of the newly launched high-performance Creo C-81 print server. Shown publicly in Germany for the first time, it is ideal for rigorous graphic arts applications. The C-81 features include; Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 (APPE) support; free web-based training and HTML help tools; colour library enhancements; synchronised paper library and SMS and email notifications.
Peter Williams, Executive Vice President, Ricoh Production Printing Business Group Europe says, “digi:media is the ideal platform to underline our commitment to providing production printing solutions for ambitious printing operations that want to harness the latest technology to secure their future success. By identifying complementary partnerships and continually developing our solutions, we can help our customers improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance output quality.”
