- Key role in reinvention of VO5 haircare range
- Multi-combination print including foil and gravure
- Luxury label for on-shelf impact
CCL Label has played a central role in the reinvention of Alberto-Culver’s VO5 range of haircare products.
VO5 was launched in the UK in 1961 and is used by millions of consumers. Now the shampoo, conditioner and treatments range has been completely redeveloped, including a new bottle structure and design.
The new design was created to support the key product benefit ‘Adaptive Haircare Technology’,which was highlighted through a new kaleidoscope graphic.
As labels were such a crucial part of the project, Alberto-Culver and the design agency Echo chose to bring CCL on board as a trusted and innovative partner.
The design required detailed technical input from the team at CCL as it was very different to anything done before on VO5, involving a multi-combination print including both foil and gravure printing, providing luxury appeal and underlining the quality of the product.
Alberto-Culver had an ambitious target of achieving seven different colour standards across two different bottle colours in just one day. CCL Label was able to demonstrate they could meet this on the company’s M04 press at Castleford.
CCL Label’s multi-combination presses provide cost effective solutions for the increasingly complex decoration demanded by customers, while ensuring the integrity of their brand image.
“Our timescale and target for colour standards across bottle colours was very demanding. Thanks to the cooperation and technical expertise of the team at CCL we were able to do this in the time we were there and the results were fantastic.
“Everybody across the business is thrilled at the results and would definitely make CCL a first choice partner on any future projects.”Carly Osborne, Brand Manager for VO5 Care
