What does it take to meet the tyre labelling challenge – from conversion and dispensing, through distribution and storage to the point of sale? And to satisfy the new legislation for additional labelling ahead of the 2012 deadline? A good start is a trusted labelstock brand known throughout the tyre industry.
RHT adhesive the key to good grip
UPM Raflatac’s RHT tyre labelling adhesive proves its performance every day on the production lines of nearly every tyre manufacturer in Europe.
This high tack, high coat-weight rubber hotmelt formulation assures excellent adhesion to minimize re-labelling due to lost labels. It also withstands chemicals from the tyre rubber and the tyre manufacturing process.
All UPM Raflatac tyre labelstock rolls are pattern-gummed with adhesive-free edges, minimizing adhesive-bleed to keep presses clean and running: fewer production stops assures higher productivity both on the printing line and for the tyre manufacturer.
Faces to meet every challenge
A wide choice of label faces in our tyre range to answer your every need – needs that from 1 November 2012 must comply with EC regulation No. 1222/2009. This new colour label is similar to those already seen on domestic appliances, carrying ratings for rolling resistance, road noise and wet grip.
Tough polypropylene faces for manual and automatic dispensing are strong enough for clean removal from tyres in one piece. They provide a quality print result with letterpress, screen, flexography and offset techniques, as well as thermal transfer when printing tyre references.
Raflatyre – a paper-based label face with an aluminium barrier – is going strong after more than a decade’s proven high performance. The aluminium ‘memory’ layer helps labels wrap around and adjust to the most demanding tyre profiles and further protects the face from chemical migration.
Other film and paper faces cater for logistical printing by direct thermal, ink-jet printing and economical labelling on relatively smooth tyre surfaces, to name a few. If you need it, the chances are we’ve got it.
Tailor your labelstock with a range of options
Need some fine-tuning? We offer several options to tailor your tyre labelstock – like specially adjusted adhesive coat-weights and pattern-gumming layouts.
Our ‘shadow print’ is a new security feature. The inside of the face material is printed before the adhesive is coated, providing solid reassurance that the specified UPM Raflatac materials have been used.
