Avery Dennison Expands Its Fasson® Customer-Ready Durables Portfolio To Include UL® Recognized Jetrion® Family of EFI(TM) UV Inks

The Label and Packaging Materials division of Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE: AVY) has added UL® recognized EFI™ UV inks—optimized for digital EFI Jetrion® industrial inkjet systems—to its Fasson® Customer-Ready Durables Portfolio of labeling products pre-approved by UL.

Avery Dennison has secured pre-approved file adoptions from UL for EFI UV inks in four high-performance pigments, including red, yellow, blue and black. The Fasson® Customer-Ready Durables Portfolio is available for download at

“By pre-qualifying the EFI UV inks, narrow web converters are better able to serve their OEM customers in an easy and cost-effective manner by reducing the time and costs associated with UL testing and official recognition,” said Paul Purdef, manager, thermal and laser film, Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials. “Last year, Avery Dennison secured UL pre-approval for the EFI Jetrion 4000 UV inkjet systems. This latest approval creates a stronger position for converters to provide printing solutions for durable labels.”

The ISO-9000 certified EFI inks are optimized for Jetrion systems, reducing printer downtime and print head clogging. Created in-house by one of the world’s largest UV ink manufacturers, the EFI inks can be used to produce durable labels that are heat, cold and chemical resistant. Together, the UL-certified Jetrion 4000 series and UV inks, give converters the opportunity to expand their custom applications—one-to-one marketing, anti-counterfeiting and brand protection.
“The Fasson Customer-Ready Portfolio was specifically created to meet the product identification, information and functional durable labeling needs of OEMs,” Purdef said. “The UL recognized labeling products help converters execute speed-to-market strategies that can lead to increased business opportunities.”
