DGpS introduces the Vi-SOP press. With the introduction of the Vi-SOP DG press ServiceS provides a solution for printing on sensitive plastics with semi variable size.
The Vi-SOP uses conventional offset printing plates and its print quality is comparable to sheet-fed offset presses. Vi-SOP is a modular web offset printing press whose concept is based on the successful Drent Vision. The newly developed press employs a unique feature by having servo-motor driven impression cylinders that are separately driven from the plate and blanket cylinders. Web tension between the printing units is arranged in such a way that even print on thinner foils results in 100% register printing.
Vi-SOP prints easily on all kinds of films like polypropylene, polyester, nylon, aluminum and laminates. Besides films, the Vi-SOP is also suitable for printing on paper and even lightweight cardboards including small folding cartons. Variable cut-off is taken care of by 2 cylinder cassettes that are interchangeable. These cassettes are only required for the plate and blanket cylinders while the separately driven impression cylinders do not need to be exchanged. These 2-cylinder cassettes are more favorable in price in comparison to the 3-cylinder cassettes that are employed in the Gazelle or Vision.
