Lancashire based Douglas Storrie Labels Ltd, producers of bespoke printed labels, have purchased the first ever Edale FL-350 flexographic label, film and ticketing press.
The FL-350 is a highly versatile servo-driven flexographic press combining the finest print quality with innovative features ensuring high speed changeovers, minimum downtime and minimum wastage. The FL-350 utilises the latest servo technology providing pre-register, auto register and print length control features to achieve highest print quality whilst dramatically reducing job change times and set up wastage.
Nigel Storrie, MD of Douglas Storrie Labels, says”Douglas Storrie Labels’ customers expect top quality labels at economic rates, so choosing the right press was an important decision for us, and after careful consideration we decided to buck the trend, and opted for the Edale FL-350; in our case - an 8 colour servo driven UV flexo press, rather than going down the digital route.”
Edale’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Jeremy Westcott, comments “The Edale FL-350 sets a benchmark for narrow web presses designed to produce top quality labels, with their owners focussed on minimum machine downtime and material wastage. We are delighted with this new press and equally delighted to be working with Douglas Storrie Labels Limited on the first installation. We are looking forward to numerous worldwide installations in 2012”
Storrie concludes “We are in a global market; but it is great to support British engineering, design and quality, especially because we regard this press as exactly the right fit for our current and future goals. We have made a calculated risk purchasing the first FL-350 flexo label press in the UK, but in our opinion, it’s a risk well worth taking. We have worked with Edale on some aspects of design, and with an identical press being shown at Label Expo this year, you can see why we are confident in our decision.”
