Kodak’s New Software Enhancements Deliver Improved Quality, iPad Compatibility, and Strengthened Connectivity from MIS to Press

A variety of new software features for KODAK Unified Workflow Solutions are being introduced at Graph Expo, including increased automation and cross-platform integration, enhanced color management, seamless connectivity with third-party solutions, mobility support, and advanced screening features for printers that specialize in packaging.

New versions of KODAK PRINERGY CONNECT and PRINERGY EVO Workflow Systems, KODAK COLORFLOW Software, KODAK PREPS Imposition Software and the new KODAK INSITE Prepress Portal System application for iPad tablets are among the products being demonstrated at the show.

Reliable proofing and remote job approval improve cycle times and are key to customer profitability and production efficiency. The new INSITE Prepress Portal System application for iPad tablets improves communication, reducing the approval cycle time and decreasing time to market.

“We recognize that our customers make a significant investment to maximize the efficiencies of their prepress workflows, and we want to deliver the best return possible on that investment,” said Steve Miller, Global Category Manager, Unified Workflow Solutions, Kodak. “Kodak continues to develop new and innovative solutions that increase automation, system capabilities and integration across not only our own product portfolio but also third-party systems. Our primary focus is on streamlining our customers’ workflows, reducing waste and taking cost out of their processes—all while delivering the high quality they expect from a KODAK solution.”

One of the enhancements being demonstrated at the show is the new Business Link connectivity between EFI’s MONARCH Planner Software and PRINERGY CONNECT Workflow. This new functionality creates a strong link between the business and production workflow, allowing customers to speed up their scheduling, invoicing, and prepress workflow activities. “We are dedicated to our customers’ success and know that our customers make sound investment choices in third-party systems. Kodak’s ability to support these partner solutions further underscores our commitment to improving efficiencies across the entire production environment,” says Miller.

Also new and being shown at Graph Expo is the managed connectivity between PRINERGY CONNECT Workflow and the EFI FIERY Controller. This new enhancement to the PRINERGY Workflow provides a single platform for blended production environments, providing real-time connectivity between prepress and pressroom for scheduling, job submission, and job tracking.

Building off the success of the award-winning KODAK DIGICAP NX Screening, Kodak continues to innovate in the delivery of screening features that increase quality levels in flexographic printing. At Graph Expo, two new screening features will be introduced—KODAK MAXTONE NX and STACCATO NX Screening. These new additions to Kodak’s large portfolio of screening features for offset and flexo printing have been specifically designed to fully leverage the unique capabilities of the KODAK FLEXCEL NX System.

These are just a few of the exciting new workflow features and functionality being demonstrated at the show.
