Sun Chemical launches new Sheetfed ink system for increased efficiency: SunLit® Titan

Friday, September 2, 2011

Sun Chemical, the world’s leading manufacturer of printing inks and pigments, is today launching SunLit Titan®, a new sheetfed ink system designed to meet the demands of the evolving Commercial print market to allow increased efficiency and profitability through high speed performance.

With ever increasing pressure on commercial printers to maximize their efficiency and workflow productivity, Sun Chemical undertook extensive research and product testing to be able to offer their customers a new ink range which will address all these demands. SunLit Titan is a very high speed, fast drying ink range which will allow printers to accelerate and optimize their workflow at 2 stages of the process: one-sided printed sheets dry within minutes, which allows almost immediate turnover for reverse print; and also, once both sides are printed, another waiting period is eliminated through quick-drying, so sheets can go straight to processing.

The Titan-effect is enabled by the introduction of innovative patented raw materials leading to very fast setting as well as fast and thorough oxidative drying. Printers can also benefit from the fact that the application of a water-based coating is not required.
The new range can be successfully applied across a variety of substrates and can be used to print a wide range of applications. It is best suited for use in small to medium print runs as this delivers the most value.
Felipe Mellado, Chief Marketing Officer for Sun Chemical, said: “SunLit Titan is a breakthrough for the Commercial printing market as it delivers immediate value through press optimisation and increased efficiency therefore delivering higher profitability. Through our commitment to quality, service and innovation we’re able to offer our customers the opportunity to develop their businesses and maximize their output.”
