Under the theme “Take the label to the limit” at this year’s Labelexpo Europe, UPM Raflatac is highlighting the potential of self-adhesive labelling and presenting new solutions that push the boundaries of where and how labels can be used.
“Our latest introductions are designed with one goal in mind: to give our customers the advantage in today’s tough market,” says Tapio Kolunsarka, Senior Vice President of UPM Raflatac EMEA. “We’re offering thinner and higher performance materials that meet exacting requirements for aesthetics and functionality. Good examples are UPM Raflatac’s expanding ProLiner PP30 product family which now includes a filmic face for food applications, and the newly launched Retail Eco SWP for self-service weigh-price labelling. Both offer our customers significant benefits in production efficiency, quality and sustainability. We’re also introducing new solutions for pharmaceutical and tyre labelling, together with tailored innovations for security labelling and brand protection.”
Sustainability through innovation
UPM Raflatac is committed to designing products with sustainable lifecycles, reducing waste, sourcing raw materials responsibly and offering attractive recycling options. The unique label waste recycling concept, RafCycle®, now incorporates several ways to give film and paper liners and other labelling by-products a second life as an alternative to landfill or incineration. UPM Raflatac is also continually expanding a range of FSC® certified products, with the latest launches including the FSC-certified wine range and high-volume Raflabrite FSC paper faces.
Optimum digital printing
Visitors to Labelexpo will also find UPM Raflatac present at the Digital Print Workshops, demonstrating a completely new labelstock printed on a UV-inkjet press: Optimum Extra is considered a breakthrough in mid-gloss papers, delivering good results with HP Indigo and UV inkjet.
Step into the Pro Label Studio
UPM Raflatac has recently gone live with a new website for label and packaging designers, prolabelstudio.com. The site allows designers to browse label face materials and renders previews of the selected materials on different packaging. The tool also introduces a range of prototype materials that offer fresh combinations of colour and texture to create innovative label solutions. Labelexpo visitors are welcome to explore the Pro Label Studio online at UPM Raflatac’s stand, 5D60.
