Breit Technologies and Sterling Toggle/Foiltone have installed a table top Cast and Cure™ unit exclusively at the Inwork Inc. Innovation Center located in Garnerville, NY. This one-of-a-kind production system provides Inwork with the unique capability of creating one-off comprehensives or several hundred packaging samples that truly represent the production quality of Cast and Cure™ effects.
Cast and Cure™ is a decorative coating process that enhances the traditional varnishing process by “casting” a holographic image into the surface of the varnish. This micro embossing technique allows for the use of holographic images in packaging at a significantly reduced cost compared to traditional holographic materials. Cast and Cure™ is also a fully sustainable process providing designers a broad pallet of decorating options while maintaining the environmental consciousness needed in today’s world.
According to Tim Cain, President, Breit Technologies, “This allows designers to create an impactful image without distracting from graphics on the package, thus enhancing their design while also reducing costs and carbon footprint.”
Inwork has print and decoration capabilities that cover all components for retail packaging including labels, bottles, cartons, cans, bags, blisters, clamshells and tubes. The addition of Cast and Cure™ at the Innovation Center, combined with the current extensive capabilities at their main office, gives the creative community the ability to turn ideas into products.
“This technology supports Inwork’s philosophy of providing discovery and innovation, allowing us to work with our partners in design to achieve the best possible result early in the design process, rather than applying an effect as an afterthought,” says Gordon Plotkin, Principal, Inwork, Inc.
Inwork provides an invaluable service to the design community by creating comprehensive packaging that incorporates a pre-press technical execution with a creative, design-oriented thought process that sets realistic expectations and enables a smooth transition from design through commercialization.
Inwork, Inc. (http://www.inworkinc.com/) is a brand enabler. Pioneers in the comp industry, Inwork partners with leading Consumer Packaged Goods clients, design firms and printers to bridge the interpretation gap between design and production.
