Ren-Form Turbo-charges Print Operation with KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting System

outh African print service provider, Ren-Form, has improved quality and increased speed and run lengths after investing in KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems through Kodak’s South African distributor, Antalis. The company retrofitted the advanced printheads to a multi-color DRENT VISION and a MULLER MARTINI Concepta Press. The installation has spurred a significant improvement in performance, even when using variable data.

Ren-Form works from its state-of-the-art facilities in Selby, and counts a raft of high-profile companies among its customer base including Gauteng Legislature, Lotto, Independent Electoral Commission, Johannesburg Water, Executive Office of the Mayor, Post Office, Acsa, Metrorail and Unisa.

A convinced choice for a clear vision

The innovative company started out as a traditional forms operation, but to remain competitive it has diversified to offer value-added services such as variable data printing and advanced finishing, and has designs on moving into the burgeoning flexible packaging market.

Ren-Form is committed to exploring new technologies, and regularly invests in the latest printing and finishing solutions to enhance its offering and improve the way it operates.

Tommy du Sart, Owner and Managing Director at Ren-Form, comments on the investment in KODAK Technology, “The KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems have enabled us to run at much higher speeds—productivity has soared. Being able to undertake litho and variable data printing in one go immediately puts you in a different class to other printers, which means more opportunities to grow our revenue and that of our customers.

Take forms, for example. You can have a whole lot of forms with different details on each of them—being able to print at 1,000 feet per minute on offset, while incorporating variable data, means you can take on jobs that most printers would find impossible.”

Immediate ROI

Indeed, Ren-Form is already reaping the benefits of its investment. The KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems played a pivotal role in a recent high-profile job. “We had a truly massive print job for an existing client that incorporated ballot papers for the elections in Nigeria,” explains du Sart. “Without the PROSPER Systems, we’d never have coped.”

Du Sart continues, “We anticipate ROI within three years. We are now able to produce work with faster turnaround times that is crucial in the type of work that we do, such as ballots, waybills, census forms and statements.”

Mark Clark, Regional Business Manager & VP Digital Printing Solutions EAMER, Kodak, highlights the importance of this installation, “For Ren-Form the KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems fulfilled an immediate need for action and delivered the goods. We’re happy to see the KODAK Technology could contribute to the Ren-Form business profit.”

“I really couldn’t believe how smoothly the ballot paper job went,” du Sart adds on a final note. “Each sheet had to have a different number, but it proved a walk in the park for the PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems—which is quite something when you’re running at 1,000 feet per minute. The equipment’s integrity is spot on, and we never had to worry about numbers dropping off or anything like that.”
