High-impact, eco-friendly loop and hook binding at drupa 2012

Bekaert presents new color options and eco-friendly coated wires for wire combs and calendar hooks at Messe Düsseldorf, Hall 11, Booth C55.

Delegates visiting Bekaert’s stand at drupa 2012 will see the latest binding innovations to hit the market. The company has created new ways to customize wire binding products – and all while making them greener and eligible for certification. Bekaert will showcase their new products at Messe Düsseldorf, Hall 11, Booth C55, from 3-16 of May.

Supporting creativity

Bekaert has more than 50 years’ experience of developing coated wires for bound stationery. The company has four specialized coated wires, all available in an extensive color palette: Metalobind®, Nylobind®, Tinobind® and Ecobind®.

And to help create more visually striking products, Bekaert now offers the option to combine two colors on one wire. The Bekaert combined colors wire is a brand-new, unique polymer-coated wire with ink dots printed on the surface. It can accommodate any design – the wire is available in a wide range of colors and it can be printed with any color to match.

Ecobind® is a popular eco-friendly alternative for wires with a petro-chemical coating. The range has recently been expanded with more color options, ensuring that Ecobind® is now more than just green: it also offers customers the freedom to explore a broad spectrum of design options.

Format Werk boosts green credentials with Ecobind®

Format Werk, Austria’s largest producer of stationery for schools and offices, has capitalized on the benefits of Ecobind®. The company recently received the renowned Blue Angel certificate for its complete Formati, Format-X and Ursus Green notebooks. Before using Ecobind®, only the products’ jackets and cover sheet paper were eligible for the certification.

“Consumers and businesses are increasingly aware of their environmental responsibilities,” says Thomas Riemer, Managing Director of Format Werk. “We’re committed to using high-quality, sustainable raw materials that are sourced responsibly.

“Incorporating Ecobind® into our paper products, and partnering with an eco-friendly company like Bekaert, will help us meet this commitment.”

Bekaert invites press and visitors to visit them at Booth C55 in Hall 11 of the Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, from 3-16 of May.
