KODAK ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System Helps Customers in Emerging Markets Convert Easily to Thermal CTP

Kodak announces the availability of the new KODAK ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System, which will be on display in the Kodak stand (Hall 5, F09-1) at drupa 2012. Optimized for commercial, publication, and small-format offset packaging printers in emerging markets, the KODAK ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System offers complete access to Kodak’s state-of-the-art imaging and plate technologies that provide exceptional performance and a great value.

Whether customers are transitioning to digital imaging for the first time or upgrading to a higher level of performance, the ACHIEVE CTP System delivers all the benefits of Kodak’s thermal imaging technology, such as exceptional image quality, true stability on press and operational efficiencies, that many of today’s industry-leading printers utilize every day to differentiate their businesses. The ACHIEVE CTP System includes everything a printer needs at an affordable price, including platesetting, plates, workflow software, processing, and chemistry.

The KODAK ACHIEVE CTP System is currently being introduced in the Asia-Pacific region. Later in the year, availability will expand into emerging markets in Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

The KODAK ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System features the KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter, which delivers stable, high-quality and consistent imaging specifically designed for the demanding needs of commercial, publication, and small-format offset packaging printers. The KODAK ACHIEVE EM Thermal Plates perform exceptionally well in prepress and in the pressroom, where they are rated for up to 200,000 impressions without baking. They deliver extraordinarily sharp detail and stability from mid- to long-run AM and FM applications, reducing plate remakes and variation. ACHIEVE EM Plates’ combination of excellent stability and latitude in imaging, processing and the pressroom, together with significantly reduced chemistry consumption and fast imaging and processing, help optimize total throughput and overall cost of ownership of the complete prepress imaging system.

With low chemistry usage and reduced waste, printers also can enjoy the potential cost savings and reduced environmental footprint that come with the new system. With the growing pressures for environmental compliance and the burdensome costs brought on by the disposal or management of excess waste, energy usage and/or spent plate chemistries, the ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System delivers exceptional performance and operational efficiencies to help address those challenges.

“Kodak is proud to introduce this new, entry-level system for those customers hoping to convert, affordably, to thermal CTP without compromising quality or performance,” said Todd Bigger, Kodak’s Global Current Marketing Director of Offset Solutions. “The KODAK ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System will help boost productivity levels and provides consistent imaging job after job, while the low total cost of ownership will help more customers in emerging markets consider embracing this cutting-edge technology. It is definitely a high-performing system, and we look forward to seeing more customers make the move to Kodak’s thermal imaging equipment.”

With a low cost of entry and fast return on investment, the KODAK ACHIEVE All-In-One CTP System is a reliable, value-based CTP solution for those printers looking to make a smooth transition to thermal imaging.
