Adding a design color touch to bound stationery

Bekaert combined colors wire opens a raft of new options for designers, allowing them to enhance the character of bound stationery by adding an extra dimension of color:

· Complementing a brand by incorporating company colors e.g. for whitepapers or annual reports

· Mirroring the colors of a sports team or other event e.g. using team colors on bound products like scrapbooks, calendars and notebooks

· Reinforcing the character of a product line e.g. using green shades to underline an eco-friendly notepad

· Making a product more recognizable  and stand out

Tailored to market intelligence trends

The paper industry moves quickly and is very sensitive to emerging trends. Subsequently, wire binding requirements are constantly evolving. Bekaert monitors all trends very closely and this market intelligence forms the base for its research and development strategy.

Bekaert attaches particular importance to co-development, taking a specific problem or more general business situation as its starting point. At the company’s main Technology Center in Deerlijk, Belgium, and its R&D Center in Jiangyin, China, teams of highly qualified scientists and engineers work closely with lead customers. Bekaert regularly runs joint R&D projects with its customers and suppliers, sharing ideas and resources, collectively benefitting from pooled knowledge and expertise. It was a co-operative project that resulted in the Bekaert combined colors wire.

Lieven Somers, Bekaert’s Global Market Manager for bookbinding wires, comments: “Bekaert combined colors wire enables designers to give more edge to wire combs and bound stationery. Customers are increasingly looking to customize and differentiate their products and this product allows them to do exactly that.”

Bekaert invites press and visitors to visit them at booth C55 in hall 11 of the Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, from 3 to 16 May.
