Duduprintz Media Company installs first HP Indigo press 5500 in West Africa

HP today announced that the Duduprintz Media Company in Lagos, Nigeria, has installed a 7-colour HP Indigo press 5500 with an HP Smartstream Director and Photo Enhancement Server to successfully enter the digital print market and to attract new customers.

Duduprintz decided to invest in the HP Indigo press that can print up to 68 ppm full colour / 136 ppm 2-colour, after discovering the potential business opportunities available to the newly established company. Thanks to its profit-enhancing capability, the HP Indigo press 5500 has made a rapid and positive impact on the business and Duduprintz is already considering expanding their business with a second HP press in the near future.

Seun Kupoluyi, Chief Executive Officer at Duduprintz Media Company, said: "We focus on print and cross-media marketing solutions and in order to make this exciting business idea a reality, we understood quite early that the HP Indigo 5500 press boasts the features needed to respond proactively to our customers' needs."

"Nigeria has one of the largest economies in Africa and the country is witnessing a lot of change to its business climate with more businesses being established every day and the existing ones battling each other for supremacy. We are sure that the new press will help us to build up a competitive edge."

Specialised in short-runs, on-demand and personalised printing, Duduprintz also creates and manages integrated cross-media campaigns on behalf of its clients. Although the printing segment is only one part of the company's business, it remains a very important one. In conjunction with MindFire, an HP partner and supplier of one of the leading software for cross-media campaigns, Duduprintz is better placed to maximise the capabilities of the HP Indigo press to create new revenue channels.

"Our aims are to grow the business as soon as possible and to further improve the ability to fulfil consumer requirements, which means delivering high quality jobs and meeting shorter-deadlines."

Personalised brochures, photo books, and business cards can be printed in short-runs on the HP Indigo 5500 press, which allows Duduprintz to increase its efficiency and to easily meet the rising demand for variable data printing. The HP Indigo 5500 press' multi-feeder and stacker features offer outstanding flexibility to Duduprintz enabling easy switching between jobs, proofs and media types.

"The digital market is a fast growing industry, and Duduprintz occupies a rather unique position when compared with competing print businesses," explained Kupoluyi. "We are a solutions' provider, offering not only print but also marketing services, which differentiates us from other print service providers. We understand today, that print transcends the processes of ink on paper. Every printed piece is a marketing collateral of which the content, layout, choice of colour and of substrates are as critical as the print technology required. With HP Indigo, we are able to take advantage of the opportunities we see, while giving our customers enhanced value on every print project."
