Kodak to Lead Transformation of Digital Printing Operations for Argentine Government's Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda

Kodak’s digital technology will help to modernize digital document printing systems and increase value for the Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda, the secure printing site of the Argentine government. Kodak’s innovative solutions will help the Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda achieve objectives of high performance levels, quality, consistency and efficiency across its print operations. Digital capabilities will improve the print production of security transactional documents, lottery tickets, catalogs and other applications its produces.

Managed by the State Administration of Argentina and part of the Ministry of Economy, the Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda is currently in the process of modernization. Its operational upgrades will include KODAK VERSAMARK 500W Printing Systems, the KODAK NEXPRESS SX2700 Digital Production Color Press and theKODAK DIGIMASTER EX110 Digital Production System. These additions will allow the Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda to apply digitally-enhanced features such as digital printed security markings, values, complex variable data printing and rich-color or textured finishes.

      The Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda will use the VERSAMARK Printing System’s next generation Drop on Demand (DOD) printheads to produce variable print documents such as transactional documents. A single-engine duplex design increases productivity and drives higher throughput during peak production periods. The single-engine also minimizes web breaks and offers a 40 percent smaller footprint than competitive systems.

      VERSAMARK Printing Systems can produce a complete process color, personalized, two-sided document in a single pass. This eliminates the two-step process of printing offset forms or master documents and then imprinting variable data offline. The streamlined production process aids in the reduction of costs and turnaround times. Its performance also helps improve flat field density and reduce the variation in dot size within one module in the printhead to lessen banding and increase print quality. Specialized features include security inks to prevent fraud and available MICR to facilitate automation and secure check processing.

      The NEXPRESS SX Digital Production Color Press will help the Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda drive more jobs per shift. The NEXPRESS SX Platform, according to an independent study by SpencerLab, achieves the overall highest rating in print quality, demonstrating the best all-around performance across the majority of attributes such as excellent substrate flexibility.

      The KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solution provides options for in-line coating and printing effects including watermarking, protection coating, glossing, MICR printing, gamut expansion, red fluorescing ink for security and in-line dimensional printing that is unique in the industry. The system’s depth will allow Sociedad del Estado Casa de Moneda to differentiate its offerings with unique, value-adding products.

      The DIGIMASTER EX110 Digital Production System adds digital black and white cut sheet printing capabilities that improve operational efficiency through dependable, consistent and reliable performance. The EX110 System can quickly and cost-effectively produce short-run jobs with exceptional quality. It also offers variable data printing to create personalized applications. The EX110 System offers a rich selection of robust finishing options for use in high-value applications such as manuals, newsletters, reports, catalogs and presentations.
