Greek label printer Cabas S.A. has come away from the global FINAT Label Competition 2012 with two recognitions of quality – a Highly Commended Certificate for the Agrotiki Ellinis Extra Virgin Oil label, and 1st Prize in the printing processes group (Rotary Letterpress) with a label for the Metaxa 7 Stars spirit.
Competition winners were selected from 325 entries from 52 countries, and announced at the annual FINAT congress in Athens. The jury described Cabas’s Metaxa entry as ‘An attractive metallic-looking label’ with ‘several subtle, almost hidden images. The deep blue image contrasts well with the golden background … the medallions and the original 1888 date add authenticity’.
Best through motivation and partnership
“During the last year and a half, a lot has been said about the status and sustainability of Greek companies, and even more has been speculated about the future of our market in general. Awards like these are definitely a motivation for us to keep doing the best we can under the circumstances, and they are also a strong counterweight to the pressure we all have to work under,” described General Manager of Cabas S.A. Panos Cabas.
Mr Cabas also sent thanks to UPM Raflatac Country Manager Despina Daioglou, saying “We believe you are entitled to a piece of these distinctions, since without your support none of this would have been possible. We truly value our collaboration. After all, these strong partnerships have kept us among the oldest Greek companies in this field, counting 42 years and still going.”
