RPC Containers Oakham and RPC Superfos in Lubien, Poland, have combined to ensure continuity for leading adhesives manufacturer Mapei.
Mapei was changing from its previous 16 litre rectangular printed pack to the new 17 litre container, which required in mould labelling (IML) to provide superior image quality for a high-value product.
RPC Oakham sourced the 17 litre container (mould 6170) from RPC Superfos, who had the technology needed to carry out the colourful IML process to give the pack real impact.
The containers are produced by RPC Superfos Lubien and imported to Mapei in the UK under the RPC Oakham banner.
RPC Oakham Business Development Manager, Andrew Cutler, says: "The good collaboration between the sites has enabled us to provide the right pack for the customer and meet their deadline, in a situation where timescales were very tight in phasing out old lines to bring in the new.
The containers are being used for Mapei’s 15kg Ultrabond Eco Tack, an adhesive which dries to provide a tacky film allowing the removal and replacement of carpet tiles.
