Axon Showcases Its Newest Full-Body Shrink Sleeve Applicator

image Axon is exhibiting at West Pack, February 12-14, at the Anaheim Convention Center, the stainless steel version of the Aurora, a series of in-line mandrel-style shrink sleeve applicators.

The two Aurora models – Prime and Premium – offer applicator speeds up to 150 and 300 full-body shrink sleeves per minute, respectively. The stainless steel frame options in 304 grade for wet-filling rooms and 316 grade for increased corrosion resistance are ideal for full shrink sleeve labeling for beverages, dairy products, household chemicals, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals.

Aurora applicators deliver simplified operation, maintenance, and line integration through the industry standards defined by Packaging Machinery Language (PackML). The units also feature a modular EtherNet/IP control platform from Rockwell Automation.

Along with a variety of standard features, including recipe functionality, left or right hand orientation, bilingual operation, electric height adjustment, and a performance guarantee, Axon offers numerous custom options for Aurora units. This means customers only pay for the features most beneficial to their unique environment.

Axon also has its own steam tunnels and conveyors, which means that the company can help customers pull together a unified line that delivers high throughput, superior quality, and low waste. Additionally, Axon can assist customers in finding the right film and filler suppliers for the product being packaged.

In keeping with Pro Mach’s ProCustomer initiative, which is a set of standards for all Pro Mach companies to meet or exceed stringent customer support criteria, Axon has stocked a Nevada warehouse with high-wear parts to reduce shipping time and costs for customers in the western United States. Support personnel are also available on the west coast.

“Axon has the broadest range of shrink- and stretch-sleeving equipment in the industry – from flexible electro-pneumatic to higher speed, higher volume servo-driven machines,” said Brad Wegner, vice president and general manager, Axon. “We have equipment to satisfy any production requirement and are able to grow with the customer. Our focus is on maximum uptime and maximum customer satisfaction.”
