More versatile design, more flexible material selection and management. And that’s not all: outstanding efficiency levels can reduce both machine costs and material costs by up to 20%! This, then, is the new Formsleeve+ labelling machine, the latest Sacmi Labelling ‘creation’, soon to be presented at the Open Day to be held at Sacmi on 13th March 2013.
Using laser or solvent technology, this innovative new machine uses roll-fed film to make sleeves with a heat-shrink percentage on a par with current best standards.
The event is aimed at an audience of specially selected visitors who will have the opportunity to visit the Sacmi factory and the R&D lab where the innovations that have made the company the leading technology supplier to the ceramic, plastic and packaging industries are created. The latter is a sector in which Sacmi has, in recent years, invested heavily, focussing not just on technological innovation but also on the organisational side by uniting the various companies – already providers of excellence within their respective fields – within a single Division that now supplies closure-making machines, preform injection presses, stretch-bow moulders, filling machines, labellers and end-of-line automation solutions.
The Open Day will get under way at 9.30 with a presentation by Vezio Bernardi, General Manager of the Beverage Division; to follow there’ll be an illustration of the technological advantages offered by the new Formsleeve+. Then, after a live demonstration of the machine in operation, participants will also have the opportunity to get a close look at the latest machines in the full “Made in Sacmi” containers-closures production range, including the brand new IPS preform-making injection system.
The morning will thus see all the other elements in the Sacmi Beverage range play a key role: from the stretch-blow moulder for PET bottles to filling and Form-Fill-Seal technologies, plus automated end-of-line solutions and Bag-In-Box integrated filling-packaging units; the latter, in fact, constitute the very best the market has to offer, especially as regards olive oils, wines and other high-grade food items requiring systems that ensure product integrity and optimum conservation of organoleptic qualities.
The day will close with a visit to the Sacmi plant, to be followed by a second demonstration of the Formsleeve+ for a different application. A tempting occasion, then, for visitors – especially international visitors – to bring themselves up to speed with Italian innovation and, perhaps, combine the experience with a visit to the surrounding area or the numerous cities of art – Ravenna, Venice, Rome, Florence – so easily reached from Imola.
