Mark Andy Announces European Open House

Mark Andy Open House Leading narrow web press manufacturer Mark Andy will be hosting an Open House at its UK showroom and demonstration facility in Macclesfield in April.  The one-day programme, which will repeat over the 4-day event, will showcase the latest technologies to label and packaging converters from across Europe.  Some of the top features will be the latest in UV LED curing with ProLED, combination decorating with high-end flexo printing, inline converting, and entry-level digital print.

On working display will be two of the company’s Performance Series machines – the fastest selling, innovation award winning press, with more than 200 installed since 2009.  A P5 eight-colour 430mm UV-flexo press will be fitted with Mark Andy’s new QCDC (Quick Change Die Cut) system that is easy and ergonomic to use.  QCDC reinvents the entire die cut workflow, allowing the operator to set up a new die offline, and use an efficient cart to change over without a hoist.  It will be demonstrating high-end label production with screen and inline hot foil stamping.

Also on live display will be a 330mm Mark Andy Performance Series P3 press, in six-colour configuration.  Fitted with the company’s new ProLED UV curing system, an energy efficient and virtually maintenance free joint development between Mark Andy and Flint Group using Phoseon Technology, it uses medium wavelength rays to avoid ozone and heat generation.  Designed for new installations or retrofits, it offers deeper and faster curing, and gives water-based presses the opportunity to extend their capability with combi drying/curing.
Mark Andy launched short-run digital technology late last year and will show the entire short run digital workflow, featuring a low cost SRL 4.0 digital printer alongside its short run converting system, the SRC.  It has a web width range up to 320 mm and a speed of nine metres/minute.  With several units already sold, the SRL and SRC offer label converters an entry into the digital print market without major capital investment.

Rotoflex, one of the world’s leading inspection rewind brands, will be on hand to showcase two of its efficient and effective finishing solutions: the all new VLI and the ever popular VSI inspection, slitting, inspection and rewind systems.
The new VLI has expanded capabilities for more advanced applications and high-speed production.  Ideal for film, film packaging and other tension-sensitive materials, the VLI’s URC 2.0 control system has been upgraded to meet virtually any film type application.  It is available in five web widths from 330 to 700 mm and is capable of 260 m/min.  With its eDrive motor system, the VLI can be specified to include multiple slitting, multi lane counting, dual rewind, multiple web guiding, and missing label or matrix detection.
The VSI is a high-speed machine with the latest integrated web transport that includes eDrive, web inspection, and finishing technology designed to improve machine performance and enhance product quality.  Good operator ergonomics are a key feature of all VSI machines.
