Esko, Videojet and X-Rite identify profitable packaging improvements at Pro2Pac

Ways to improve quality, productivity and profitability throughout the entire food and drink packaging supply chain will be highlighted by Esko, X-Rite and Videojet at Pro2Pac, taking place in London’s Excel from March 17 to 20. The three companies – all part of Danaher's Industrial Technologies Segment – will combine expertise and present their solutions dedicated to food and packaging specialists on stand S2424.

 

 

Esko delivers competitive edge for brand owners

Esko will focus on the time-savings, efficiency gains and creative capabilities its packaging solutions offer. "We are not limited to one area of the packaging chain as we believe to bring real benefit, we have to be involved in all areas of the packaging production process - from concept to shelf," says Paul Bates, Esko’s Regional Business Manager UK & Eire.

Esko's WebCenter delivers end-to-end packaging process management, creating a competitive advantage by specifying requirements, managing assets and overseeing the entire design and production process. Online collaboration is also aided by Esko's Dynamic Content Engine that enables online creation, storage, translation and collaborative approval of all text for any kind of packaging. Reducing time from concept to shelf is another demand highly request by packaging specialist and brand owners. Therefore Esko will also highlight the time and cost savings delivered by Studio, a unique set of tools for 3D packaging design. Via ArtiosCAD, Studio links through to third party palletization software and as such multiple components can be visualized together while creating the artwork for each component. One of the most actively discussed topics in the industry is colour management which is why Esko is also showcasing the effectiveness of its Color Engine and the integration with PantoneLIVE™.

 

X-Rite steps up colour conversation

X-Rite Pantone will take the conversation a step further by detailing how PantoneLIVE™, has quickly established itself as a vital tool for effective colour management throughout the supply chain. Data on brand owners’ trademark colours and the PANTONE Colour Libraries is stored on the cloud for easy access anytime and anywhere in the world by PantoneLIVE licensed customers.

It will also demonstrate the recently introduced eXact spectrophotometer that makes colour measurement quick and easy for while solving the widespread problem of measuring and matching colours on various substrates and surfaces. It is the first spectrophotometer in the industry to offer customers a way to measure true daylight conditions by supporting all the M Standards inclusive of the complete M1.

 

On show too, will be X-Rite's InkFormulation 6. This fast, accurate and consistent formula creation, storage, approval and retrieval solution for offset, flexographic, gravure and screen-printing inks, is able to rapidly calculate the optimal and most cost-effective recipe based on the printing process, ink, illumination, pigment pricing, and number of components and materials to be used. The new leftover function enables packaging printers to make use of left overs to formulate new colours and reduce costs and waste.

 

Videojet solutions assure 100% traceability

Coding assurance specialist Videojet will be showing how manufacturers and brands can use high quality, accurate and reliable coding solutions to deliver 100% product traceability and integrity assurance with its broad portfolio of modular and retrofitable systems.

In particular it will highlight its small character continuous inkjet printers, part of its 1000 Line range, that minimise planned and unplanned downtime and maximise printer availability.
