Manucor to invest in white film production line and narrow width slitting capacity

Manucor is investing €5 million to increase capacity for five-layer white BOPP films and to add capacity for narrow width reel slitting.

The planned expansion will increase five-layer name plate capacity to 30,000 tons to meet growing demand for white packaging and labeling films. This will be accomplished by upgrading our 8.2 meter line with a state-of-the-art five-layer extrusion system. This proprietary multi-layer technology will increase capacity Manucor’s growing range high performance white films. The project will be completed by year-end 2013.

Two new narrow width slitters, with a combined 5000 ton capacity and equipped with web inspection technology to guarantee the highest quality possible, will be installed by July 2013. As a result, our customers will have enhanced quality and shorter lead time for small reels.

Carlo Ranucci, VP and Managing Director of Operations, stressed that this expansion is an integral part of Manucor’s strategy to deliver consistent high value products and services, and reinforces Manucor’s long term commitment to help our customers succeed in the market place.

Manucor operates 5 orienters with a total name plate capacity of 100,000 tons, including a 10 meter line which is the highest output orienter of its class, and three metallizers with 10,000 tons of capacity.
