Xeikon Café Welcomes Label and Packaging Printers and Converters

A unique platform for the exchange of interdisciplinary knowledge and experience across the broad spectrum of digital production.

Label and packaging printers and converters have some important dates to mark on their calendars this year. In the coming months, several Xeikon Cafés are planned at different venues across Europe, offering a unique opportunity to discover new approaches and technologies, and share knowledge and expertise with peers and other industry professionals.

The concept of a Xeikon Café is simple but effective: To provide an informal knowledge exchange platform covering the different aspects of digitalizing print production, while cutting through the information overload. With this aim in mind, Xeikon and its Aura Partners are inviting printers and converters to come along to local events. Every Xeikon Café is organized around a central theme or topic, such as digital printing technology, converting equipment, print media, software, or consumables and targets a specific industry, i.e. labels & packaging or document & commercial printing. Through demonstrations, presentations, workshops and discussions, participants receive first-hand, actionable information and advice on industry innovations and trends. Because these events are organized in the local language, they are highly accessible, offering participants and speakers plenty of opportunity for networking and business development. Xeikon Cafés mostly take place at Xeikon customers’ sites, so any equipment can be demonstrated in its natural habitat.

This spring’s Xeikon Cafés will focus on labels & packaging. The first one was arranged on April 5th at Demax DPI Plc in Sofia, Bulgaria, and attracted more than a hundred industry professionals. Xeikon experts discussed trends and evolution in labels and packaging production, while ThermoFlexX specialists gave a presentation on digital plate making. To illustrate the possibilities of digital label printing, two case studies were presented by Xeikon customers: wine labels (by Printing House Daga) and prime labels (by Demax, a Bulgarian security printing business). The second one was arranged on April 16th with central theme: “Label’or, a digital success story”— in collaboration with Label’or, a Belgian label printing and converting business.
