Established at the beginning of the 1900s, today Mangiatorella SpA is one of southern Italy's leading companies on the mineral water market with an annual production of almost 200 million litres.
Located in Stilo, near Reggio Calabria, Mangiatorella's plant has a covered surface of about 25,000 sq m and features an innovative bottling system. They produce mineral water under the Mangiatorella, Hidria, Acqua Rossa and Cavagrande brands for a wide range of distribution channels; from traditional distributors to big retailers, from direct to online sales, along with the HORECA channel (restaurants, bars, pizzerias).
Mangiatorella Group's is quite sensitive to issues concerning environmental protection. Indeed, at the feet of the Etna volcano in Belpasso, near Catania, the first entirely sun-powered mineral water bottling company called "Fonti dell'Etna" was set up and that bottles "Hidria" and "Acquarossa" water. "Fonti dell'Etna" is the first photovoltaic plant in Europe in use by a mineral water company.
To further increase its efforts in favour of environment protection, Mangiatorella recently purchased the Adhesleeve labelling machine from P.E. LABELLERS, the first eco-friendly linerless labelling machine where the absence of hot glue means applying contamination-free labels, therefore, 100% recyclable, along with the bottle and the cap. The labelling machine installed at Mangiatorella's plant can label cylindrical and shaped containers at a speed of 36,000 bph. The formats processed are rectangular PET 1.5 l and 2 l bottles. The labelling machine is fitted with special blowing heads to apply the label on empty bottles processed by the blowing machine.
