Labelexpo celebrates double win at AEO Excellence Awards 2013

The Labelexpo Global Series has won two coveted awards at the prestigious AEO (Association of Event Organisers) Excellence Awards which were held at London’s Old Billingsgate on 21 June. Triumphing in the Organiser Team of the Year category, the team also scooped the Marketing Campaign of the Year award for a record-breaking fourth time.

Recognizing its work across 2012’s Labelexpo Americas, Labelexpo India and the South China Label Show, Labelexpo won the Organiser Team of the Year category for its commitment to working closely with venue partners, industry trade associations and exhibitors alike. With all three shows experiencing an increase in floor size and rising exhibitor and visitor numbers, the award highlights the collaborative nature of event organization, showcasing objectives and achievements, improved productivity, efficiency and performance.

Lisa Milburn, managing director Labelexpo Global Series commented: “We are very honored to have won these two esteemed awards. May I personally congratulate and thank each member of the Labelexpo team for their contribution in delivering world class and record-breaking events and helping us to win these fantastic accolades. May I also thank our many industry partners, exhibitors, show visitors and the media for the strong support we continue to receive and that makes our shows so successful.”

Winners of the Marketing Campaign of the Year category in 2008, 2010 and 2011, the team won for an unprecedented fourth time with its in-house Labelexpo Americas campaign. Using the tagline “Uncover the greatest technological advances of our time”, the theme was based on the various situations an undercover spy finds themself in. Personalized and devised across a range of print and electronic mediums, the campaign also made clever use of the printing technology that would be on show at the exhibition with a carton mailing in the form of a spy camera. Judges said of the entry ‘‘Great theme and interesting design” and “Delivered first class results”.

Michael Hatton, Labelexpo Global Series’ marketing director said: “It is an exceptionally rare honor to be recognized for an amazing fourth time by the AEO and we are absolutely thrilled to win again. It is a massive achievement for the whole team especially as other shows in the printing sector have recently experienced declining attendance. I would like to thank our media and industry partners for supporting the campaign again and helping the show be the fantastic success it was.”
