PRESSURE-SENSITIVE LABEL RELEASE LINER: The annual ‘must attend’ event for suppliers, producers, and users

Release liners  for pressure-sensitive labels remaina topic of considerable interest and debate in the world of converting and packaging. The annual one-day Label Release Liner Seminar, hosted by market experts AWA Alexander Watson Associates, will once again focus on the state of the art and market status on 23 September in Brussels – as industry professionals converge on the city in preparation for the LabeleEexpo Europeexhibition, which opens the following day.
This year’s agenda spans opportunities and concerns across the entire label release liner value chain, providing a timely update. Corey Reardon, President and CEO of AWA Alexander Watson Associates, sets the context with an expert overview of current label release liner market data.
Seminar keynotes
Papers on keynote topics include visions on trends and developments from labelstock manufacturers UPM – from Mikko Rissanen, Paper Business Group -- and Robyn Buma, Materials Group, Avery Dennison. The label maker’s perspective is discussed presented by Skanem Group’s Materials, Quality and Technical Support Manager, Alan Hazlewood; and the resurgent linerless label technology, and its future role, is reviewed by Mike Cooper, Business Development Director of Catchpoint Ltd.
Environmental initiatives
Release liner recycling represents a major opportunity to help the environment., and FINAT’s Public Affairs Manager, Mark Macaré examines current practical options and pilot projects within the pressure-sensitive label industry, while Calvin Frost, CEO, Channeled Resources Group and a seasoned re-user/recycler, considers all the by-products the industry produces, and shows how they can be used to make the entire supply chain more sustainable.
