RAKO ETIKETTEN Süd once again opts for Gallus

In commissioning a Gallus ECS 340, RAKO ETIKETTEN Süd, a subsidiary of the RAKO GROUP founded in 2004, is further extending its competitive edge.

The Gallus ECS 340, which is equipped with ten flexographic printing stations and a cold foil embossing unit for finishing, is used first and foremost to produce beer crate labels, an area where the company has successfully made a name for itself. As well as these labels, the site in Mitterscheyern also produces adhesive, in-mould and coupon labels, tags, admission tickets, lottery scratchcards, special designs and sheeted stock for the market.

Production at the RAKO ETIKETTEN Süd plant has increased continuously since 2011. The company’s portfolio of machinery, which now comprises six presses, enables it to perform all kinds of jobs for its customers expertly and reliably, ranging from long runs to very short, personalised orders and from a low to a high level of finishing. The decision to specialise first and foremost in HD flexographic printing and to continuously strengthen on-site expertise didn’t happen by chance. There are three key factors that give HD flexographic printing a competitive edge and make it the ideal print process for labels and flexible packaging – outstanding cost-effectiveness, exceptional reproducibility and excellent print quality. It is because of these benefits that the plant, which has a workforce of 45, has already been using Gallus printing presses for several years with great success.

Oliver Finkbeiner, Managing Director at RAKO ETIKETTEN Süd, knows what is important when purchasing a label press: “Reliability and availability, coupled with the flexibility to adapt to new production needs at all times, are the key criteria when the management team of any labelprinter is investing in a new item of equipment. The Gallus ECS 340 meets all these requirements to our complete satisfaction.” For production manager Martin Ganz, the optimised settings for the impression cylinder are a particularly important success factor: “The new press has allowed us to cut our setup times dramatically. The extremely short web path also ensures minimal waste. All in all, the Gallus ECS 340 is proof that top print quality and efficient, cost-effective production are not mutually exclusive.”

These economic and quality assurance features are the reason why the entire RAKO GROUP, which with over 1400 employees is one of the largest and most modern adhesive label manufacturers in Europe, has been placing its trust in Gallus and its presses for several years with great success. Ferdinand Rüesch, Vice-President of the Gallus Group’s Board of Directors and Key Account Manager for the RAKO GROUP, adds: “We are extremely pleased that our successful partnership with the RAKO GROUP, which has installed several of our presses in Europe and Asia, is now being extended at RAKO ETIKETTEN Süd.”
