Tarsus takes on Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Events for Namuwongo

A team of Tarsus Group employees, the organizers of the Labelexpo Global Series and parent company of Labels & Labeling, will take on the national Three Peaks Challenge – climbing the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within a 24-hour period – in aid of Events for Namuwongo, on 31 August 2013.

The charity is a partnership of companies and individuals from the events industry, formed to support the Namuwongo slum, near Kampala in Uganda. Despite poverty, chronic malnutrition, polluted water, drug abuse, sexual exploitation, AIDS, a derelict sanitation system and an average wage of only 20p a day, the community’s 30,000 inhabitants endeavor to improve their own lives.

This year the charity plans to raise £400,000 in order to provide: free, clean water, life-saving sanitation, essential health care, education for 500 children a year, a new school - the HOPE academy, adult education services, free sanitary products and a long lasting relationship with the community.

The £10,000 Tarsus aims to raise should tip Events for Namuwongo’s current running total into the £300,000 mark, so please donate what you can. The Three Peaks Challenge will put the team’s physical and mental stamina to the ultimate test so they need all the encouragement they can get to make it all worthwhile.
You can follow the team’s training and fundraising progress on the blog, which can be accessed via the fundraising page at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/tarsus3peaks.
