Spanish Comexi Group opens a permanent centre dedicated to R+D

imageComexi Group has opened the Comexi Group Research, a 550m² permanent space dedicated to the research and development of new products. 


The Research Center will be dedicated to both its own preliminary prototypes testing and validation tasks (software, mechanisms) and to different works on equipments and solutions to be incorporated into Comexi’s Group products. 


According to its strategic support to R+D, the Comexi Group Research Centre will be open to collaborative research among clients, partners and co-suppliers in what may be a qualitative leap in the field of the flexible packaging conversion industry innovation. This new space will be a private area which will guarantee the confidentiality of both Comexi’s Group own developments and the ones of the partners involved in them.

 
The new Research Centre facilities have a large machinery park. Among them, a flexographic printing system prepared to print in Solvent Base, Water Base, Water Based EB and WetFlex and EB continuous lamination has to be highlighted. Is also has a multi-trolley laminator as well as a slitting and rewinding machine of the latest generation.
Furthermore, it will have a gas chromatograph to control the solvent retention and a digital dynamometer to control the bond strength: tools that will improve the company’s performance and the quality of its research.


The Research Centre will earmark a research area for all the company’s product lines: Comexi Flexo, Comexi Acom, Comexi Offset, Comexi Nexus, Comexi Proslit and Comexi Enviroxi.
The opening of the Research Centre represents a clear commitment to innovation and to the constant evolution of its developments in order to continue being a worldwide reference in its sector.

Innovation, Comexi’s Group strategic pillar
The Research Centre reinforces the company’’s global strategy, focused on innovation. In the last few years, Comexi Group has developed an investment and growth line based on the research into new solutions and products that want to mark a turning point in the flexible packaging sector.  

 
In this regard, the company has also established later this year the Manel Xifra Boada Technology Centre, whose aim is to become the benchmark for the flexible packaging sector as a knowledge driving force. The CTec Manel Xifra Boada bases its activity on training and consultancy, academic activities and innovation.
With both centres designed to different innovation variants, Comexi Group is at the very forefront of R+D of the flexible packaging market.
