PWP FS Signs KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Press Deal at Print Efficiently 2013

Hoddeston general commercial printer PWP FS’s Managing Director Keith Robertson visited the nearby Print Efficiently event in Hemel Hempstead on the opening day and signed an order for a KODAK NEXPRESS SX3300 Digital Production Color Press.

“We have a KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Production Color Press which has helped build up our highly successful digital printing service over the past four years,” comments Mr. Robertson. “The M700 is producing 300,000 A4 pages per month and we believe our new KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Press will help us double that production in the next couple of years.”

Adding a new dimension

While the productivity gains were a decisive factor in the £2.5m turnover operation’s choice, it is the KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions that Mr. Robertson expects to help elevate his service provision. “We are keen on the ability to use the clear dry ink for spot and flood coating and interested in what the dimensional ink will allow us to do,” he explains. “We think is it an exciting way to extend what we can offer our customers and it will enable us to be more creative. Designers in particular are open to suggestions and we look forward to presenting them with a greater range of options.”

The KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions deliver high impact print with Dimensional, Red Fluorescent, Light Black, Intelligent Color, Coating, MICR and Glossing solutions. These help drive new, valued-added applications, resulting in higher margins. The latest addition to the ink line up is the KODAK NEXPRESS Gold Dry Ink. It enables printers to add a gold metallic effect as a fifth color.

Steve Donoghue, Director of the 22-employee strong operation that works with unions and blue chip operations, adds, “I think it shows clients that we are all for the future and this will help us grow the business in a value added way. In six to twelve months, we expect to increase our share of the digital market particularly as we will be able to provide services others can’t.”

Making an impact

David McGuiness, Kodak Marketing Manager for UK & Nordics says, “PWP FS may have chosen the KODAK NEXPRESS Press initially for the Fifth Imaging Unit Solution to add a clear dry ink for spot for flood coating but already the teams are excited about the impact dimensional and gold inks could have on their print capabilities. When being proactive with customers, it is so important to have something concrete to present them with that can make a big difference to retaining and winning new work. That is why Kodak believes the Fifth Imaging Unit Solution is such a key addition to the print production environment.”
