Shelton Turnbull to install the Colordyne 1600-PC Rotary Pro digital printing press

shelton turnbull logo Shelton Turnbull has invested in a Colordyne Technologies™ (CDT) 1600-PC Rotary Pro digital label and tag printing press to allow the company to address its major focus for the future – growing variable data printing and “on-demand” printing.

A leading provider of printing and graphic communication services in Eugene, OR, Shelton Turnbull was impressed by the CDT 1600-PC Rotary Pro’s ability to compete favorably with traditional printing methods. The press will be installed this month to complement its existing flexographic presses.

“We needed quicker turn-around and lower costs for short runs,” said Barry Miller, president of Shelton Turnbull. “Colordyne was unquestionably the best option for us as it both lowered cost while providing quality enhancements.”

The Rotary Pro is a full-featured digital label and tag production system offering complete in-line printing, laminating, varnishing (aqueous or UV), rotary die cutting, slitting and rewinding. It offers the ultimate in digital efficiency and cost effectiveness. Using Memjet™ technology, the press prints at 1600 x 1200 dpi (1.2 picoliter ink droplet, the smallest in the industry) resolution at print speeds of 160 feet per minute (49 m/min.)

“The CDT 1600-PC Rotary Pro convinced us by its performance, its high resolution and its excellent color capabilities that it was the option for us, allowing us to handle even the most demanding jobs,” Miller said.

“Colordyne’s solution is the perfect addition to Shelton Turnbull’s operation to help the company achieve its business goals,” said Emily Kroll, senior global account executive at CDT. “It’s fast speed, high resolution and low capital cost enables them to make short runs more profitable and penetrate new markets.”
