Label Tech achieves “A” Grade Certification once again

image Label Tech is delighted to have been once again awarded the highest “A” GRADE CERTIFICATION under the Global Standard for Packaging & Packaging Materials. This is following Label Tech’s recent audit for British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation which was carried out by “SAI Global” a UK based accreditation company. BRC is the leading global standard adopted by major retailers and packaging businesses around the world.

The British Retail Consortium consulted with the food industry and the Institute of Packaging to develop a comprehensive packaging and materials standard for the sector.  The Standard provides focus on quality and functional aspects of packaging which complement the established requirements of factory hygiene. The resulting BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials certification, endorsed by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), is now viewed as a benchmark of quality, safety and legality; and has been recognised and adopted world-wide by retailers, manufacturers and packaging businesses. Certification to the Standard verifies technical and functional performance, aids manufacturers’ fulfilment of legal obligations, and helps provide protection to the consumer.

The Standard includes:

  • Requirements for managing printed packaging
  • Additional safeguards to reduce the risk of chemical migration from packaging into food products
  • Emphasis on managing the functional quality of packaging materials to meet customers’ specifications

Marc Doyle, Label Tech’s Quality Manager commented
“We’re delighted to have once again achieved an “A” Grade from the British Retail Consortium following our recent audit.  We work hard to ensure the highest standards in every aspect of our manufacturing process. This BRC certification is testament to that fact.  Our customers can trust us to maintain these high standards in quality, safety and consumer protection.”
