The two-day event will bring together beverage industry professionals from across the globe to meet and share insights with key industry players in the Africa beverage value chain. The conference will feature Dr. Naima Boutroy, Packaging Materials Manager at Sidel, who will discuss the various means to create genuinely sustainable packaging solutions that protect liquids, lower costs, attract consumers and ensure repeated purchases.

"Africa is driven today by its positive economic outlook, rising disposable income and population growth, a combination which makes the continent an ideal place for businesses to establish and expand their presence," said Dr. Naima Boutroy, Packaging Materials Manager, Sidel Group. "Being a leading global provider of PET solutions for liquid packaging, Sidel identifies Africa as one of its key priority markets that rapidly responds to innovative solutions which address evolving market needs."
From creative and technical design to finite element analysis, bottle feasibility and eventually industrial production, Dr. Naima will discuss in detail the various options available to producers who want to design, optimise and validate their packaging for different supply chains and production conditions. She will also cite a number of successful case studies from different parts of the world, which demonstrate the creation of real value in the real world. Thus, for example, a global producer of mineral water in Turkey managed to achieve a substantial return on investment in only two years and a boost in efficiency which helped him stay competitive in the marketplace.

Clive Smith, Zone Vice President for Sidel in the Greater Middle East and Africa said:

"Over the past few years, we have installed a significant Sidel presence in Africa, which has become today one of the fastest growing markets for our business globally." He then added: "We are committed to share our experience and know-how with our existing and future partners in the market and show how we add significant value to their businesses. This manifests itself in lower costs, higher market presence on the supermarket shelves and of course a responsible approach to sustainable production."

The conference will be accompanied by a two-day exhibition in which industry suppliers and manufacturers will display their latest innovative products and solutions in packaging, plant equipment, technology, raw materials and ingredients.
