MPS Systems North America Inc. (MPS) has named Northern Graphic Solutions Inc. (NGS) as its distributor for its high-quality flexo and offset presses in central and eastern Canada.

“We are excited to join the MPS team,” said Jerry Wynia, president of NGS. “We truly believe MPS is the leader in print quality and production efficiencies, offering its customers a real competitive advantage with today’s challenges. With its emphasis on ease of control, press operators really love running this press, thereby using the maximum potential of the technology as well as bringing quick returns to the ownership.”

Kees Nijenhuis, MPS’ vice president of North American operations, believes NGS is a great fit with MPS’ “Operator Focused, Results Driven” philosophy and will be an outstanding partner, serving the printing companies of Canada extremely well.

“By combining the technical innovation and high quality manufacturing of MPS with the market knowledge and customer service of NGS, we can optimally satisfy the needs of the Canadian market. Together we have an outstanding ability tohelp customers improve their entire printing process, which will enable them to excel even further. Together with NGS and our North American organization, we’re building a best-in-class sales and service organization,” he said.

MPS has been selling and servicing its presses in North America for several years, and in May the company announced it was strengthening that presence by expanding its sales, installation, service and assembly operations. This partnership with NGS is another step in fulfilling this goal.

“With MPS’ value-added features, their presses bring additional opportunities to our customers,” said Wynia. “One example is the trend to thinner and thinner unsupported packaging films. With its unique web transport system and Crisp.Dot®technology the press can easily handle these materials with an extremely stable register.”

One of the flexo presses NGS is offering its customers is MPS’ flagship: the EF printing press. The EF is an automated multi substrate press available at 13, 17 and 20 inch, which includes the Crisp.Dot technology and features a choice of either plate rolls or print sleeves. This high-quality production press features both UV and hot-air drying technology, allowing users to print diverse substrates including film, paper, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging.

Leading the sales and service effort for NGS is Jerry Wynia and Jim Neate, sales and marketing manager. With local support based in Toronto and Montreal, NGS will be able service all of central and eastern Canada.
