Bizerba USA purchases MPS EF flexo press

MPS Systems North America Inc. (MPS) announced it has sold an EF flexo press to Bizerba Label Solutions, part of the Bizerba Group. Bizerba Label Solutions is located in Joppa, MD.
According to John Gomeau, president of Bizerba Label Solutions, the deciding factors for purchasing the MPS EF press were its operator friendliness, open design, advanced features such as Crisp.Dot and iControl, quick change die system and press automation.

“We are very impressed with all this press has to offer,” said Gomeau. “The fact that it can run very thin films at high speeds and in stable register is very remarkable. It’s also great that we can continue to use our existing plate roll tooling stock.”
Gomeau said he also feels with MPS’ commitment to service, the two companies will build a partnership that will enable Bizerba to become more efficient with quicker changeovers and faster print speeds.
Kees Nijenhuis, vice president of MPS Systems North America Inc., agrees that the two companies’ focus on service makes for a great relationship. “Bizerba’s success is a direct result of their focus on delivering first-class service to their customers. That is the same at MPS. Service, whether its connecting customers with the right press to meet their exact needs, or training press operators to get the most from the press or providing outstanding preventive and repair maintenance, customer service is our number one priority,” he said.
The EF is MPS’ flagship press. It is an automated multi-substrate flexo press that offers a choice of either plate rolls or print sleeves, providing the ultimate in flexibility. It also features both UV and hot-air drying technology, allowing users to print on a variety of substrates including thin film, paper, cartonboard, shrink sleeves, inmould, lamitube and flexible packaging. The EF features MPS’ exclusive Crisp.Dot and iControl technologies. Crisp.Dot uses a rubber-coated counter-pressure roller to exert equalized pressure resulting in minimal dot gain. The result is that the print dot retains its round shape, the ink coverage is solid and small fonts are sharper. The iControl management and service operator/machine interface minimizes operator errors. Simple, intuitive and stress-free to operate, this technology enables the operator to choose and run individual functions via a touch screen and button, greatly simplifying machine control and operation.

Gomeau said Bizerba was in the market for a new press in order to meet increasing demand from both new and existing customers. This is the first MPS press for Bizerba USA; however, its parent company Bizerba has purchased nine MPS presses in total.
